Meet the Staff
The Geology and Petroleum Department is comprised of 14 staff members as shown in the organizational structure of the Department. There are 10 technical staff including the Director and the Deputy Director and 4 administrative staff members.
The technical staff consists of four geologists, one petroleum engineer, three technicians and two petroleum accounting and auditing staff. These personnel carry out the day to day administration of the petroleum industry. The petroleum engineer, geologists and technicians supervise and monitor exploration activities such as seismic surveying and drilling of wells, well testing, appraisal and development operations and oil production, storage, transportation and sale. The petroleum accounting staff audit and certify petroleum revenues and expenditures and conduct the day to day contracts administration. The technical staff is trained annually in all areas of the petroleum industry including petroleum geology, geophysics (seismic surveying), drilling, petroleum engineering, production operations and petroleum accounting, auditing and economics.
The administrative staff provides general administrative support to the technical staff.
