Craig-Elliott Moore
Deputy Director
Craig-Elliott Moore is the Deputy
Director of the Geology and Petroleum Department in the Ministry of Natural
Resources, Petroleum and Mining, Government of Belize. Mr. Moore started his
career with the Government of Belize as a Geologist in the Geology and
Petroleum Department in December 2002 and was later appointed Deputy Director
of the Department in June 2007.
Mr. Moore holds a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Geology from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Jamaica and Master’s
Degree in Project Management from the University for International Cooperation,
San Jose, Costa Rica.
Mr. Moore also holds certificates in
petroleum geology, petroleum engineering and petroleum regulation.

Duties
- Assist in the administrative and financial management of the Department.
- Responsible for the direct management of the technical staff.
- Assist in overseeing the exploration and exploitation of the petroleum and mineral resources of Belize.
- Assist in the promotion and development of the petroleum and mineral resources of Belize.
- Assist in providing technical advice to the Minister and Chief Executive Officer on matters pertaining to petroleum and minerals.
- Assist in reporting to the Minister and Chief Executive Officer on matters pertaining to petroleum and minerals.
- Assist in the preparation of cabinet papers on issues pertaining to petroleum and minerals requiring cabinet approval or support.
- Assist in the overall planning and direction of the Department and the preparation and execution of the annual Department workplan in order to fulfill the Department’s Mission.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual Department budget and ensure implementation in accordance with Financial Orders.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic and yearly Departmental reports.
